Superhero Camp (July 8-12)

This week will be all about the superheroes in the Bible, ending with the best superhero of all Jesus.  We will be doing a short film spoof of the Avengers focusing on how Jesus is our superhero. Everything during the week will be themed superhero style. This week the kids will get to make their own superhero cape and mask!

Arts Camp (July 15-19)

This week will focus on the beauty and creativity God used to create the world.  There will be special guests coming in to teach the kids about a variety of art. It will be a week to explore the various ways a child can express themselves artistically including drawing, painting, singing, and acting!

Splash Camp (July 22-26)

Swimming, slip and slide, water games, as well as various other water activities will be going on this week.  As campers enjoy all the fun and crazy water activities this week, we will also be dipping into some of the great water themed Bible stories such as Noah’s Ark, Jonah and the Whale, Jesus walking on water and more!

Outdoor Camp (July 29-Aug.2)

Hiking, swimming, canoeing, campfires, and more! Who doesn’t love a good time doing things out in the wild! This week will focus on what people in the Bible went through in the wilderness. This week will include a field trip to Wabamun Lake where the kids will get to spend a whole day outside doing various activities!

Sports Camp (Aug.6-9)

Do you love soccer? Basketball? Hockey? Football? Then this is the camp for you! We will be playing various sports all week long from soccer to ball hockey. It will be focusing on teamwork, pride, being humble, strength and courage.  This week will include trips to the park by Yorke Elementry School.

Around the World Camp (Aug. 12-16)

            Around the world in a week! Can you imagine? Well, during this camp we will be looking at different places and cultures each day; from Canada to China, from Europe to Africa. While looking at all these places and cultures we will learn about different cultures, how God loves everyone, and the call Jesus made for us to tell everyone about him.

Camp Extravaganza (Aug. 19-23)

            This is the last camp of the summer and it will be jam packed with fun! Each day will be a different theme from over the summer. That means you get a taste of the greatness of all the camps in one week! The last day will have the end of summer party which will consist of lots of games and great snacks!

On Saturday, Parents can join in on the fun! 

Out in the wide-open spaces, we’ll discover a colorful old town where all the excitement of the Wild West awaits! In SonWest, we’ll celebrate all the fun of being buckaroos—so grab a sarsaparilla and join in the jamboree! There’ll be snacks, games, music, crafts—and amazing true stories that point you and your kids to Jesus!

Ride with us under the deep blue skies. Feel the breezes rise through the shady purple canyons as we head out through this bright wilderness—we’re traveling down the trail through the Old Testament stories of Moses to discover God’s ultimate plan of salvation in Jesus, because “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).

So come on! Rustle up your kids and head on over to SonWest Roundup 2013 VBS for a rip-roarin’ good time!

What is ACTION?

ACTION (All Church Teaching in One Night) is an evening for all ages to come and meet with others and with our Lord. We begin our evening with dinner @ 6pm. Then we watch an episode of the series “The Bible” and discuss it together. Youth and Children usually split off and enjoy some other fun activities.

Dinner & Movie Series

6 weeks!

It is our desire to offer our community one evening when we can gather together as a family for a meal(feeding our body) and discovery times to GROW in our relationship with God and each other (feeding our souls).

We will be meeting Thursday evenings starting Feb.21st.  These nights will begin with a meal at 6 PM.  Then from 6:30 – 8:00pm we will break away into smaller groups that are either interest or age related.  There will be nursery care provided,  Kids Konnect & Glee (children), The Catacomb (youth hang out),  a “Modern Parables” video series (adults)  happening simultaneously during this hour.

Modern Parables is an original film-based Bible study curriculum on Jesus’ parables. It uses short films of the parables combined with teaching and group study questions to create an entirely new learning experience.
Modern Parables seeks to re-create the emotional immediacy that Jesus’ 1st-century audience felt when hearing the parables. It does this by using some of the best parable scholarship and exploring it through creative filmmaking. The gut-level understanding made possible by the films is intended to drive listeners into a deeper understanding of the Bible.
